How to Upgrade ODMS from Olympus R7 to OM System ODMS R8
OM System, formerly known as Olympus Audio, has released the latest major version of its on-premise Windows software, ODMS R8 – OM System Dictation Management System. With Olympus ODMS R7 support is ending in March 2025, now is the time to upgrade to the latest version.
Why Upgrade to ODMS R8?
ODMS R8 offers enhanced features and improved compatibility, ensuring your dictation and transcription workflows remain efficient andup-to-date. Here’s what you need to know about upgrading:
- Upgrade Eligibility: Upgrades to ODMS R8 are only available from ODMS R7 installations for both the Dictation Module (DM) and Transcription Module (TM).
- Older Licences: If you own licenses for older Olympus software, such as ODMS R6 or DSS Player Pro R5, you will need to purchase a full ODMS R8 licence rather than an upgrade licence. Please ensure your physical dictaphone is compatible with ODMS R8, especially for the Dictation Module. Currently, only the Olympus DS-9000 & DS-9500 are compatible with ODMS R8 Dictation Module.
