Olympus have finally released an update to their ageing DSS Player Plus dictation and transcription software for Mac. This release comes after issues with many Mac users rushing into the latest OS X upgrade to 10.11 named El Capitan (details in this post). Unfortunately, unlike most other Mac developers, Olympus must have slept through the beta releases of El Capitan and the operating system rendered the USB transcription pedal disconnected.
You can download the latest version from here : dictat.es/mac-fixed
So when El Capitan first came out and my foot pedal was not responding… I tried uninstalling the DSS Software and reinstalling. It would not reinstall (I’m assuming because it needed the update). Now that the update is out and I have downloaded the update, I still cannot reinstall the DSS Player V7 software. I keep getting an error message saying ” The installation failed. The installer could not install the software. The installer could not install the software because there was no software found to install.”
Any recommendations for what I should do?
Thanks.
Hello Carla
The update is for those who still had the Olympus software installed on their Mac.
As you removed the software you will need the full installer which you can download from here:
Olympus DSS Player Plus v7.5.2 Full Installer for Mac
Hope that helps.
