Thanks for your comment. Both Obstetrics and gynaecology are specialities covered by MacSpeech Dictate Medical, the full list I will post at the end of my comments. Essentially the dictionary is loaded with wording specific to these, and other, specialties. Therefore it would work very well.

However, you may know that MacSpeech Dictate has been superseded by Dragon Dictate 2.0 (by Nuance). As yet there is no medical version of this product, but this does not mean that you can not use it for medical speech. The new version, like Dragon NaturallySpeaking for Windows, has the option during initial training to review your documents and emails to find any words not included in the standard dictionary. In this scenario you could have Dragon Dictate scan your documents which contain your most common medical terminology, have Dragon Dictate identify them and then you can voice train those specific words as a one off task. Their is an obvious cost benefit doing it this way as opposed to buying MacSpeech Medical, plus Dragon Dictate is a newer, revamped version.
